The popularity of Wiffle®Ball in New Carlisle grew so much after the first two City Championships that the Old Republic Wiffle®Ball League was formed in the summer of 2007.

The top team from the inaugural ORWBL season, the New Carlisle Newts, entered the Championship for the first time, sweeping through their pool on Saturday and the single-elimination finals on Sunday.  The Newts defeated the Scrappers in the final game for their first title.
