2026 Pool Play Schedule

The Wiffle®Ball Championship at New Carlisle Hometown Days is scheduled for Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26. Saturday's pool play schedule, along with the field map, is available now at hometowncup.com.

CHECK-IN

Team check-in will open at 9am ET on Saturday morning. Each team must have a representative check-in at least 30 minutes prior to your first scheduled game. The information/scorer's tent will be located between the concession stand and the Olive Elementary parking lot.

Teams will turn in a Liability Release as their official tournament roster at this time. Copies of the release will be available at check-in. However, to speed up the process, teams are strongly encouraged to print it off and fill it out prior to Saturday morning. Teams will not receive their game balls until the release is turned in.

Due to the number of teams in the field and the size of the complex, there will be no opening ceremonies. After checking in, teams can report directly to their assigned field at game time. Play should begin promptly at 10am ET.

POOL PLAY PROCEDURES

On Saturday, score cards will be located at the field.  Teams should arrange to have the score card turned into the scorer's tent immediately following each game. For pool play games, the clipboard and additional score cards should be left at home plate of the field following eachgame.

PLAYOFF QUALIFICATION

The top 48 teams will advance to the Hometown Cup Playoffs, beginning at 8am ET on Sunday morning. (For the Junior Division, 16 teams will qualify for Sunday.) A complete bracket will be sent out and available on hometowncup.com on Saturday evening after Pool Play has concluded.

RULES/EQUIPMENT

Teams should review the rules prior to play, as The Championship does have some differences from other tournaments.

Teams are encouraged to bring their own official yellow WIFFLE bats, however we will have some available for teams to use.  Four game balls will be provided to each team at check-in to be used for the entire day.

WEATHER

The Championship will be played rain or shine, with only severe weather/lightning stopping play.  In the event of inclement weather, be sure to follow @HometownCup on X or Facebook for the latest updates. Should significant delays occur, the tournament format may be modified to complete the Championship this weekend.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND GUIDE

CONCESSION STAND

The New Prairie Athletic League will operate its concession stand during the tournament weekend. Be sure to stop by and get a drink or a snack between games to support the NPAL.

FOOD

North of the complex, Memorial Park is filled with various food vendors ranging from Tex-Mex, pizza, burgers, baked goods, snow cones, ice cream, and much more. In between games, or after play on Saturday, grab a bite to eat from the park.

Downtown (east on Michigan Street) is also home to various restaurants, including: Longshots Bar and Grill, Moser’s Austrian Cafe, Studebaker Brewing Co, The Black Cat, and Kate O’Connor’s Irish Pub. The west end of town features The Diner, Manny’s Restaurant, and the Billy Goat 9 & Dine.

HOME RUN DERBY AND FRIDAY NIGHT FESTIVITIES

The Home Run Derby will be conducted in an open preliminary round from 5pm to 6:30pm ET. Participants can show up at any time between 5-6:30pm, sign up and hit for one minute. The top 8 scores will advance to a single-elimination bracket finals starting around 7:15pm. Cost is $5 per person. Following the Home Run Derby, the Hall of Fame Game will feature an exhibition game between members of the New Carlisle Wiffleball Hall of Fame. To conclude the night, stick around for the annual Hometown Days Fireworks show, which can be viewed from Migley Field.

MIGLEY FIELD

The Junior Championship Game and the Hometown Cup Finals will be held at Migley Field, just one block south of the Championship complex.  The ballpark is located at 500 S Bray Street. Parking is limited to one side of the street in Migleyville.

All eliminated teams are invited and encouraged to come watch the final four on Sunday afternoon at 1:20pm ET.  Complimentary tickets are available to all participating teams at the scorer’s tent.

This year is the final season of Migley Field. An announcement regarding the future of wiffleball in New Carlisle will be made on the videoboard immediately before The Championship Game.

PARADE

The parade will make its way down Michigan Street at Noon ET on Saturday. During this time, Michigan Street will be closed and there will be no outlet from the Bourissa Hills parking lot or College Street.

PARKING

Parking for The Championship is available in the Olive Elementary School parking lot, as well as the Bourissa Hills parking lot. Again, Michigan Street will be closed during the parade (Noon ET) so there will be no outlet from College Street or the Bourissa Hills parking lot.at that time. Please do not park in the yards of neighboring residents.

PARK POLICIES

Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on any school property and premises. Smoking and/or the use of tobacco products is also not permitted on school property. No domestic animals are allowed on school property.

RESTROOMS

The restroom facilities at the concession stand are operated at the discretion of the New Prairie Athletic League. Hometown Days will provide portable restrooms at the southeast corner of Memorial Park, near the Bourissa Hills parking lot, and at Migley Field.

STREET CLOSURES

On the east side of Memorial Park, Bray Street will be closed throughout the festival weekend from Michigan Street (the stoplight) to Chestnut Street.

T-SHIRTS

Hometown Days will be selling a limited quantity of the official Championship t-shirt during the tournament. T-shirts will be $25 while supplies last. Cash or Venmo will be accepted.
